Day Trips from Hollywood
Outdoorsy tourists should make the hour-long trek out to Everglades National Park at Florida’s southern tip for an unforgettable look at the nation’s largest wetland. You’ll have to head out somewhat far down State Highway 9336 to catch some healthy swamp activity, but once out on a trail, it’s easy to understand why this ecologically diverse area is a World Heritage Site. Conversely, travel just over an hour north to Jupiter, where you can go scuba diving, take photos of the Jupiter Inlet Light lighthouse and take kids to the Loxahatchee River Environmental Center aquarium in Burt Reynolds Park—a more manicured peek at wildlife.
