About Boynton Beach
Located just north of Delray Beach and south of Palm Beach, Boynton Beach offers direct access to some of Palm Beach's most beautiful coral and artificial reefs and one of South Florida's most attractive beaches. Breeze into Boynton Beach, America's Gateway to the Gulfstream! In 1894, a former American Civil War major named Nathan Boynton settled in the area and built the famous Boynton Beach Hotel to serve as his family's summer residence. Other settlers flocked to the area when they realized that fruits and vegetables thrived in the fertile climate. The town of Boynton Beach was later founded in 1898. It remained fairly unknown until after World War II, when soldiers returning from the war found it as a great place to raise a family. Boynton Beach has grown steadily ever since.
