Sequim Information

About Sequim

Located on the Northwestern side of Washington State, in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula, the small town of Sequim is home to 6600 people. The area is known for its tremendous amounts of outdoor activities in beautiful scenery.

Things to do in Sequim

Although Sequim may be located in Western Washington, which is notorious for its rain, Sequim receives only 16 inches of rain on average every year, which is equivalent to Los Angeles, California. This low amount of rain gives the town the nickname “Sunny Sequim.” Not only is there vast amounts of outdoor excursions for one to choose from, Sequim is also home to a very proud cultural history of indigenous communities and early European traders. You can visit the Sequim Cultural Center, which also offers many different shops, restaurants, and other activities. While there, you can go see a live theatrical performance at Olympic Theatre Arts, or visit the farmer’s market if you happen to be in the area any time between May and October. Also, Sequim has many quirky festivals to attend such as the Sequim Irrigation Festival, which is the longest running festival in the state of Washington, and Lavender Weekend, which is the nation’s premiere lavender celebration. Other activities to do in Sequim include fishing, geocaching, golfing, and wine tasting. Sequim is home to the Seven Cedars Resort and Casino, which is a hot spot for tourists and adventurists needing a place to stay and nightly entertainment.

Day Trips From Sequim

Western Washington is home to the Olympic National forest, which has ample opportunities to explore a breathtaking old growth forest. Some of the best places to visit in the area for outdoor activities include Lake Crescent, a fantastic place to swim in sapphire blue water; the Olympic National Forest, which is a superb place to hike; the Dungeness Spit, which is a kayaker’s paradise; and Lake Cushman, which is all of the above! If you are craving an urban excursion, Seattle is a fast-paced and growing global city, and lies only about 3 hours away. If you fancy an international outing, Sequim is an easy ferry boat ride away from Victoria, British Columbia.

Sequim Accommodations

Tripping.com has 57 rentals available in Sequim designed to fit the budget of any and all who come to town. If you have a love of the Northwest and a curiosity about what is around the next corner, this is the best place for you. Transportation In Sequim

Since Sequim is a smaller town, the public transportation around the area is limited. Sequim has a taxi service, a city bus, and the outdoor feel of the town heavily encourages bike riding and walking. If you are interested in exploring the greater area, though, renting a car is the best way to go. The closest large airport is Seattle International Airport, 3 hours away.
