Two of the biggest attractions in North Carolina are the Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Mountains. In fact, the 500-person town of hot Springs is surrounded by both. Next, take yourself to the Hot Spring Resort and Spa where the hot spring mineral water is funneled into Jacuzzi hot tubs and will be waiting for you to arrive. For those history buffs, a trip to the Biltmore is in order while in Asheville. Created by George Vanderbilt in 1895, the tour of this French castle-like estate can easily take 2 hours and includes a tasting and overview of Biltmore’s winery. Ashville’s food scene and craft artisans are another major part of the city, so make sure to leave some time to explore the local food and shops! A trip to the Great Smoky Mountains is easy from Hot Springs. Located just over an hour away, the national park is one of our nation’s natural treasures. Must-sees on your day trip into the park are iconic Clingmans Dome, the highest peak in the Smokey’s, and Cades Cove, a beautiful, luscious valley with an 11-mile loop hiking trail. From waterfalls to mountain peaks, to valleys, this park has it all.

A flight into Asheville is the best way to get to Hot Springs if coming from out of state. Rent a car and take the short, 45-minute drive to the small town. A rental car is recommended if making any day trips outside of Hot Springs, as well, and many places within Hot Springs will require a vehicle.
