About Maggie Valley
Maggie Valley is a town in Haywood County, North Carolina, home to the Great Smoky Mountains and a wonderful destination for a mountain vacation. Things to do in Maggie Valley
When you go to Maggie Valley, your first priority should be to enjoy the scenery. If it’s winter, that most likely means heading to Cataloochee Ski Area, the Southeast’s longest operating ski resort. The mountain offers easy, medium, and difficult slopes, as well as lessons and a terrain park. If you’re visiting in the warmer months, hike Purchase Knob; drive or bike along Blue RIdge Parkway, America’s longest linear park; and visit Soco Falls, a beautiful waterfall just a short walk off the main road. Or, if you’re feeling even more adventurous, sign up for a horseback ride at Cataloochee Ranch. When you want to unwind, visit the Maggie Valley Opry House, which showcases bluegrass and mountain music, or the Maggie Valley Stompin’ Ground, a dance hall with live music. Also make sure to pay a visit to Wheels Through Time, a transportation museum.

Or, head west to Tennessee. While Nashville is a bit of a long trek for a day trip, Knoxville is only 1.5 hours away.
