Explore Halibut Point State Park, which is open year round from sunrise to sunset. The park is great place for hiking and picnicking. While staying in Rockport, explore other parts of New England by going for a day trip to Salem, Boston, or Cape Cod. Salem is just a 40-minute drive from Rockport and is especially fun around Halloween. Visit the Salem Maritime National Historic Site, explore the Witch House, and learn more about the Salem Witch Trials. Another day trip you can take is to Boston, which is about an hour drive from Rockport. If you don’t have a car, you can take the commuter rail into Boston by riding the Newburyport/Rockport Line, which takes about an hour and 15 minutes.
