Seacrest Information

About Seacrest

Seacrest is a quaint community nestled on the coast of the Florida Panhandle. The community boasts an easy-going atmosphere and plenty of small, local businesses. Known for its picturesque natural scenery, relaxed beaches, and fantastic eateries, Seacrest is the ultimate destination for visitors seeking a friendly and laid-back place to “stop and smell the roses” -- or in this case, the sea breeze.

Things to do in Seacrest

Arguably one of the most popular attractions at Seacrest is its mixed fresh and saltwater lake encompassed by sand dunes. At the lake, visitors can partake in recreational activities such as kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching. There are walking trails as well. Seacrest’s claim to fame is its gorgeous white sand beach with turquoise waters. Spend a day soaking up the sun, wading, or strolling along the sandy coastline. As for good eats, the locals’ favorite is La Cocina Mexican Grill and Bar, a restaurant specializing in Mexican fare. Patrons can feast on a range of comfort foods ranging from flavorful tortilla soup and cheesy enchiladas, to fish tacos and warm queso dip. La Cocina also serves fresh seafood and inspired creations like lobster quesadillas and burrito bowls. A prominent hangout spot is Peddlers Pavilion, a quirky center with shops and cafés. Golf cart and bike rentals are available at Peddlers 30A Bikes and Beach Life. Peddlers Pub offers a variety of wine, drafts, local brews, as well as outdoor seating and live music.

Day trips from Seacrest

The city of Pensacola is around a two hour’s drive west along the Florida Panhandle starting from Seacrest. It is protected from the Gulf of Mexico because of the barrier island of Santa Rosa. Several state parks are situated either in or close to Pensacola including Tarkiln Bayou Preserve State Park, which has a wet prairie environment home to sweet pitcher plants and alligator snapping turtles; and Big Lagoon State Park, which stays true to its name with a sizable lagoon perfect for canoeing and fishing. About two and a half hour’s worth of driving eastward from Seacrest on the Florida Panhandle leads to Apalachicola National Forest, the state’s most expansive national forest. Noteworthy points of attraction in the forest are Silver Lake Recreation Area, the wetland plant communities, and tall pine trees. Accordingly, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission allows visitors to hunt in particular sections of the forest.

Seacrest accommodations

At Seacrest, visitors can choose from hundreds of properties boasting views of the ocean and spectacular sunsets, or tucked away in a friendly, unassuming neighborhood. From spacious waterfront houses and luxury villas with access to a private beach boardwalk, to comfortable cottages and modern apartments, Seacrest has a vacation rental to appeal to almost any budget and lifestyle.
