Slow down your pace in Heber Springs, Arkansas. The town, in Cleburne County, is named after its natural springs that can be found on the east side. With rivers and lakes, Heber Springs has great fishing conditions. Hebert Springs is also historic, with all kinds of old buildings in the area. The town is overlooked by Sugarloaf Mountain — you can’t make this stuff up.

The Greers Ferry Lake draws tourists from all over for the water-side delights. The deep, clean Lake is perfect for swimming and boating. It’s is also a good spot for camping with all the rocks and trees. The Little Red River is popular for fishing, as you can find rainbow trout swimming by. The South, Middle, and Devil Forks of the river meet at the Greers Ferry Lake. The nearby Sandy Beach is normally not too crowded, giving you that serene beach experience. Get cultured at the Arkansas Arts Centre, which happens to be the biggest art museum in the state. You also have to take a look at the Little Rock Central High School, which is known as a historical place of desegregation in the 1950s. Two hours away from Heber Springs will bring you to (the similar sounding) Hot Springs. Hot Springs is a spa town, with 47 hot springs pouring down from the mountains. The springs are rumoured to have healing properties, but find out for yourself at Bathhouse Row. With eight turn-of-the-century bathhouses on Central Avenue, Buckstaff and Quapaw Bathhouses are the most popular. Also, the town is home to the Hot Springs Music Festival in June, and the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in October.
