The Waterfront Park has amazing views of the Detroit skyline across the water, and hosts festive fireworks on holidays. The peaceful Dieppe Gardens are on the riverfront also, as a World War II memorial with monuments. Little Italy is right off of the river, with an array of Italian restaurants and full of rustic charm. You can cross the immense Ambassador Bridge that leads to Detroit — linking Canada and America in one long landmark.

Detroit, Michigan is the ideal day trip from Windsor. You can get to Detroit by ferry, or through the Windsor-Detroit tunnel in just fifteen minutes. Belle Isle Park, an island off of Detroit is a state park and perfect for a day trip. Connected to Detroit by the MacArthur Bridge, the island has the Belle Island Aquarium, Conservatory and Zoo.
