This quaint, classic New England town Is located in the heart of the Green Mountains. Natural beauty surrounds Woodstock, which means there is plenty to do. Hiking trails, three covered bridges, and winter activities are all available for visitors to enjoy. The town’s main artery, U.S. Route 4, has many restaurants, shops, and is a perfect place to take a stroll with the baby and experience New England.


6. Breton Woods, New Hampshire

Surrounded the White Mountain Forest, Bretton Woods is a great place for new parents to go for a relaxing weekend. The view from Bretton Woods toward Mount Washington contains virtually nothing artificial. Parents can take a leisurely walk on the trails outside of their rental or, if more adventurous, hike up to the top of Mount Washington. For more of a guided tour, take the Mount Washington Cog Railway up to the top of the mountain and enjoy the narrated history in the cog.

Cape Cod is a summer retreat for many East Coast families, and with good reason. With iconic lighthouses, beaches, and boat tours, there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Parents can stay indoors and take in the view of Cape Cod Bay or the Atlantic Ocean, or take a quick trip to the Wellfleet Drive-In Theater for a late night movie after their baby has gone to sleep. The Aquarium of the National Marine Fisheries is another great spot to go if being outdoors is not on the docket.

The Helen Day Art Center is a non-profit in Stowe that sponsors visual art exhibits, educational programs, and workshops, all of which are low-key for parents to attend with their baby. The August Car Classic is held annually, and is a slow-pace event visitors love to sit and enjoy.

Separated from South Carolina by the Savannah River, Savannah is well-known for its thoroughly manicured parks, cobblestone streets, and rich history. New parents can ride in a horse-drawn carriage to Revolutionary and Civil War landmarks or take a trolley tour with the baby to see the sights. Stay in a beach-side cottage and enjoy a day at the spa (if your partner takes baby duty!) for an added relaxation level.

Parents can take themselves on a self-guided tour of the city, and leisurely strolling through downtown Charleston will provide rich historical points of interest.
