Things to Do in Lake Geneva
Visitors to Lake Geneva spend a lot of time at the beautiful and easily-accessible Big Foot Beach State Park, where there are picnic tables and miles of hiking trails. Geneva Lake Shore Path is a beautiful hiking path that offers breathtaking views of the lake, as well as nearby houses. Or get out on the water and participate in a boat tour with the Lake Geneva Cruise Line. You can rent a Stand Up Paddleboard or kayak on the shore at Clear Water Outdoor. Hiking enthusiasts can enjoy the Geneva Lake Shore Path for more than just a few miles - the entire path is 21 miles long, so you can spend an entire day walking from one town to the next. Make sure to bring a picnic with you so you can enjoy your view of the lake! If you are traveling with children, head to Dan Patch Stables to go on a trail ride, pony ride, or see the animals in the petting zoo. An hour north, visit the Highway 18 Outdoor Theater, a fun, old-fashioned movie theater that is open in the summer. Or head to Staller Estate Winery, forty-five minutes north through the beautiful Wisconsin countryside, to sample some excellent wines in a peaceful and relaxing setting.
Lake Geneva Accommodation
It is ideal to stay along the water so that you can get the most out of the relaxing views of the lake during your stay. If that’s not possible, there are many other great options. Stay closer to restaurants and shops along West Main Street and Center Street, or near one of the city’s numerous parks, such as White River Park, Seminary Park, Maple Park, or Elm Park. Alternatively, consider staying at Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, a smaller, charming town on the other end of the lake, or along the shores of nearby Lake Como, which is also beautiful.
