The city of Grapevine is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and is acknowledged as the Christmas capital of Texas, as it holds more than 1,400 Christmas events each year. Grapevine not only has a large selection of restaurants, shops and art galleries, but it also allows you to step back in time when you walk through its historic corridor, which is adjacent to the scenic Grapevine Lake.

Stepping back in time in Grapevine is not hard, as the city provides several historic tours such as The Historic Downtown Grapevine along Main Street. A trip to Grapevine would not be complete without visiting one of the vineyards that inspired the city’s name. Delaney Vineyards welcomes guests of all generations to their daily Blessing of Wine event. This completely free event, which starts at 11 am, is aimed to ensure an abundant harvest and ends with a wine tasting, live entertainment and a mariachi band performance. After the blessing, visitors continue the tour to The New Vintage Wine and its gallery trail, where wine tasting meets beautiful artwork. Following several wine tastings, either Meat U Anywhere BBQ or Main street Bakery and Bistro make for the best choices at both lunch and dinner time.

Day Trips From Grapevine

The city of Dallas, which is about 22 miles away, and approximately 35 minutes away by car, represents the cosmopolitan side of the area. Visitors have the opportunity to hop on a trolley tour around the city’s highlights: art, delicious Tex-Mex cuisine, and historical points. Tourists are encouraged to visit the Sixth Floor Dealey Museum, which is the site of JFK’s assassination and AT&T Center, which is the home of the Dallas Cowboys football team.
