Located on the big island of Hawaii, Pahoa is a small town in the district of Puna on the eastern side of the island, south of Hilo. Day Trips Near Pahoa
The town of Keauhou, which is located on the island’s west side, is known for its quiet beaches that offer a variety of activities, ranging from swimming and boating to fishing and scuba diving. At just over two hours away by car, it makes for a fun day trip with some scenic driving. The historic town of Hilo is only 35 minutes away and is home to the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, Panaewa Rainforest Zoo and Botanical Garden, and Wailuku State Park, to name a few. If you’re interested in visiting other islands, Oahu is just 30 minutes by plane; Maui is 23 minutes by plane; and Kauai is 30 minutes by plane.

Transportation in Pahoa
