Pine Mountain Information
About Pine Mountain
Pine Mountain is a charming southern town located just an hour southwest of Atlanta, and is known across the South as the “Gateway to Callaway Gardens.” The Callaway Gardens resort is just a few blocks from the center of town. Whether you're looking for a relaxing Saturday outing with the family, a weekend of fun with friends, or a romantic getaway, Pine Mountain has something for everyone. The town of Pine Mountain began in 1882 when the railroad connected Pine Mountain to Columbus. It was originally named Chipley and was renamed to Pine Mountain the 1960s due to the existence of Callaway Gardens. The town is the perfect combination of city and country. You'll find great golfing, hiking, shopping, restaurants, and some of the friendliest people in the south.
