Transportation In New Haven
Getting around New Haven can be done many different ways, depending on where you’re headed. Union Station offers an Amtrak train for any ventures up north, with connections between New York and Boston. The Metro North railroad at Union Station will take you right to Grand Central Station in NYC, so hop on this train for your day trip to the city. The local train in the area is New Haven’s Shore Line East (SLE), and operates between New Haven and Old Saybrook daily. For some sea travel, Bridgeport and Port Jefferson Steamboat Co., as well as Cross Sound Ferry Services Inc., offer both vehicle and passenger transportation to Long Island, NY year round. There are also local bus services than run through both the greater New Haven area, as well as downtown New Haven.
