About Ventura
Ventura is a beach city on California’s Pacific Coast located 30 miles south of Santa Barbara and about 60 miles west of Los Angeles. The city is rich in cultural history and has excellent beaches and natural areas as well as a beautiful downtown with great dining and shopping. The Spanish Fray Junipero Serra originally founded the city in 1782 as Mission San Buenaventura.
Things to Do in Ventura

The pier is located on the main central Ventura Pier Beach. Some of the top attractions include the San Buenaventura Mission, which is a beautiful church that goes back to 1782 when the Franciscans founded the city now known as Ventura. It’s an iconic symbol of the city and a must-visit. There’s also the Museum of Ventura County, which has great Chumash collections and other Native America artifacts. At the Bell Arts Factory, you can see many great art works as well as artists in studios making various works as well. There are also many events that go on and classes you can take as well. The Ventura Hot Glass Studio is another interesting artistic adventure where you can see live glass blowing. You can also take a tour on the Ventura County Wine Trail where you can visit beautiful, quaint wineries and enjoy tasting many great local wines.

Located just a 30-minute drive north of Ventura is the beautiful city of Santa Barbara, California. You can enjoy beautiful beaches on the Pacific Coast and a great walk down the Stearns Wharf Pier. The scenery in Santa Barbara is stunning with the beautiful palm trees that can be showcased at Shoreline Park. There’s also the Santa Barbara Zoo, Old Mission Santa Barbara church as well as great shopping and dining throughout the beautiful downtown district. Another great option if you’re looking to take in a big city is to visit Los Angeles located a little under a 1.5-hour drive from Ventura.
