Visitors will enjoy visiting Caspar Headlands State Beach and enjoying the scenic views, as well as going to the nearby towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Visit the Point Cabrillo Light Station to take some beautiful pictures, and be sure to visit nearby Glass Beach. During March, Mendocino hosts its annual Whale Festival featuring wine and food tastings, an art exhibit, and whale watching. Toward the winter in December, Mendocino shifts into the holiday spirit by holding the Holiday Lights Parade, a celebration of festive cheer replete with carols and floats adorned with colorful lights. Those with a penchant for the outdoors will enjoy Mendocino Headlands State Park, a California State Park with an abundance of hiking trails, thick forests, and two gorgeous beaches: Portuguese Beach and Big River Beach. Located northward of Caspar with just a twenty-minute drive is Fort Bragg, a former military outpost that boasts stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Attractions at Fort Bragg include the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, Noyo Harbor, and aptly named Glass Beach that is coated with sea glass which was the result of the waves wearing down garbage dumped by local residents.
