If you drive about 30 minutes east you’ll be at the Gullane Bents, a beautiful beach with places to eat, drink, and relax all day. 30 minutes the opposite direction will land you in Linlithgow, where you can explore historic Scotland. You can even take the train (ScotRail) and get there in 20 minutes. If you’re in for a longer trip south, you can drive about four hours, or ride the train into Liverpool and explore the home of the Beatles, as well as a little northern Great Britain culture.
