Day Trips Near Ottawa

While visiting Ottawa, a great day trip to take is to Montreal, which is a two-hour drive. Montreal has tons of fun things to, such as visiting the Notre-Dame Basilica, which is a famous church where Celine Dion got married. You can also explore the ecosystems of the Montreal Biodome, hike up to Mont Royal for scenic views of the city, and walk around Old Montreal, where you are sure to find authentic French crepes. Another day trip you can take is to Kingston, Ontario. Kingston is approximately two hours from Ottawa. In Kingston you can visit the famous Penitentiary Museum, the Kingston Brewing Company, and explore the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes. You can also day trip to Prince Edward, Ontario, which is a little under three hours from Ottawa. In Prince Edward you can spend the day going shopping, hiking, or antiquing. Make sure to go along the Taste Trail, which is a self-guided tour that goes to some great wineries and restaurants.
