Garner State Park, one of the most visited parks in Texas, is located in Concan. The park is a great example of a natural, mostly undisturbed setting. The Frio River was allowed to take a natural course and was not molded to fit the park in any way. Visitors float along the river and swim in it when the Texas sun gets too unbearable. The river also keeps the area rich in vegetation due to the canyons that have formed and keep the area cool and moist. Two endangered species of bird nest in the park, making it an attraction worth visiting if you’re a bird watcher. Aside from all of these activities, visitors can also hike, picnic, canoe, and fish in the park. Spend a day in the park and you won’t regret it.
