About Seaside

When thinking of great views of the Pacific Ocean, oftentimes California comes to mind but Oregon also has beautiful view of the Ocean. Northern Oregon, specifically is perhaps on of United States’ most beautiful points alongside the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can visit forts and lighthouses that are centuries old and follow the steps of explorers Lewis & Clark. Things To Do in Seaside

Arguably, the capital of the Northern Oregon Coast, Seaside has a plenty of things for visitors to do. Those visitors looking for family fun can visit Family Fun Park which houses a great deal of rides, an 18 mini golf course, and go carts! The city is also home to the Seaside Aquarium featuring regional marine life, a discovery center, and a 35 foot Gray Whale skeleton, as well as the Lewis & Clark monument. Visitors can also opt for Arcadia Beach State Recreation Site which is a beach and state park about two miles south of Cannon Beach. Visitors can also opt for Seaside Carousel Mall is located only two blocks away from the Pacific Ocean making for a fantastic outing. The Carousel Mall is built around a beautiful replica of a classic carousel. Visitors can also opt for classic beach activities including swimming, lounging on the beach, and water sports. Seaside also has a plethora of eating options which include Beach n Brew, Dundee’s Barl & Grill, Seaside Brewing Company, The Bridge Tender, Relief Pitcher Tavern, Big Kahuna Burgers, and Bigfoot’s Pub & Grub. Seaside also is home to numerous annual events including annual Fourth of July celebration which includes a parade, outdoor concerts, and large fireworks on display. The Miss Oregon Pageant, which is the official state finals to the Miss America Pageant takes place annually at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center.

Day Trips From Seaside

Located just 10 minutes south of Seaside, Cannon Beach is best known for its art galleries and beautiful natural wonders. On the beach, Haystack Rock is sight to behold with tide pools at its base. Located just 18 miles from Seaside, visitors can witness the oldest settlement west of the Rockies at the historic seaport of Astoria on the Columbia River. The city of Astoria has a riverfront walk and a trolley that follows the historic waterfront district. About 18 miles east of Seaside is the Saddle Mount State Natural Area which is known for its rugged trail to the top of the mountain. The Spring and Summer seasons display beautiful colorful and diverse wildflowers.
