About Kill Devil Hills
Kill Devil Hills is a town in Dare County, North Carolina situated right on the barrier islands, popularly known as the Outer Banks. Kill Devil Hills hosted the first original flight taken by the Wright Brothers in 1902, back when the city didn’t exist yet. Visit Manteo, another town in the Outer Banks. At Manteo, signature spots such as the North Carolina Aquarium, The Roanoke Island Festival Park, as well as the historic 16th Century Elizabeth II waterfront area are popular among locals and visitors. Located at the northernmost point of the Outer Banks, the town of Corolla is another great place to spend the day. Kill Devil Hills does not have a public transportation network of its own, so it’s best if you come with a car or rent one (the easiest place to do this is at the international airport in Raleigh-Durham, where you can spend some time in those fun cities before heading to the beach.) Trucks tend to be the favorite among locals and visitors since they are allowed on the beach, which is a fun alternative to what you are used to doing!
