Just under 40 miles long, Cayuga Lake is the longest of the glacial Finger Lakes in central New York. Carved by glaciers, the lake is 435 feet deep at its deepest point, and is one of the deepest lakes in the United States. Things to Do in Cayuga Lake

The first organized and longest-running wine trail n the country, Cayuga Lake Wine Trail offers gorgeous views of Cayuga Lake, Taughannock Falls, and the vineyards. Goose Watch and Thirsty Owl are two of four wineries that are accessible by boat, and are a close walk from the dock to the winery. The city of Ithaca, which is where both Cornell University and Ithaca College are located, is at the southern end of the lake. Ithaca Yacht Club is a few miles north of Ithaca, and numerous boat tours and fishing charters are available at the lake as well. Cayuga Lake is just over an hour south of Syracuse, which is home to Syracuse University. The town of Rochester is an hour and eighteen minutes northwest of Cayuga Lake, and Buffalo is two hours east.
