From celebrities such as Celine Dion and Burt Reynolds, to PGA Tour golfers Ernie Els and Camilo Villegas, this historically rich beach escape on the Atlantic Ocean boasts beautiful shorelines, championship-style golf courses, a plethora of scuba diving sites, and numerous natural landmarks to keep travelers of all sorts enamored with its delightfully tropical climate and truly "small town" appeal with big city benefits.
Things to do in Jupiter
It’s one of Florida’s most golf happy regions and home to miles of spectacular fairways and more than fifty renowned courses, such as Jupiter Dunes, Emerald Dunes Golf Club, and the PGA National Resort. There’s even the Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf for some family-style golfing fun—it’s a tropical fishing village-themed, 36-hole miniature golf course located just one block from the beach that explores both the wildlife and history of Jupiter. For beach lovers, popular places to have fun in the sun include Jupiter Beach Park, Juno Beach Park, and Blowing Rocks Beach on Jupiter Island. Kiddies will also love Dubois Park, with its more than 1,200 feet of tropical palm-lined beach, as well as playgrounds and picnic pavilions. Take the fam bam on a turtle hatchling walk, hike or bike along the many park and beach trails, or kayak up the Loxahatchee River. More adventures can even be found by diving into the over thirty artificial reefs in the region such as Breakers Reef, a two-mile reef with five to fifteen-foot ledges brimming with fish, or the infamous King Neptune, which has a nine-foot statue of King Neptune and his turtles. Make sure to also take a tour of the town’s most identifiable landmark, Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, which was erected in the 1800s. The stately red brick lighthouse goes 105 feet into the sky, and continues to sit proudly on top of a forty-foot hill on the north shore of the Jupiter Inlet. Nearby is also the Dubois Home, an 1898 pioneer home listed on the National Register of Historic Places that was built on an ancient Indian Shell Mound. After an activity day, stop by for a nice meal at Guanabanas, a premiere waterfront restaurant and bar paradise that includes lush landscapes and tropical cuisine for the ultimate waterfront dining experience. Sports fans can cheer along with the not one but two World Series pennant winning baseball teams in town, The Florida Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals. You’ll often find the boys practicing over at Roger Dean Stadium with two additional Florida State teams: the Jupiter Hammerheads and the Palm Beach Cardinals. So grab those programs, peanuts, and hotdogs to settle down for some awesome b-ball action! Just within walking distance of the stadium is Abacoa Town Center, which is chock full of specialty shops, fashion boutiques, fine dining, community events, and daily entertainment-- all within a Main Street atmosphere. Catch a show at Maltz Jupiter Theater, or take a stroll to the future home of the Riverwalk—a unique, linear park presently in the planning stages that will provide access to the over two-mile stretch along the beautiful Intracostal Waterway by winding its way from the Jupiter Inlet to the Jupiter Ridge Natural Area. There’s just too much to see and even more to do in Jupiter!

Elsewhere around Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast are Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, or Boca Raton, which anchors the county's south end and houses fine hotels, wondrous art museums, live jazz clubs and concerts at Mizner Park, a glittery Town Center-like shopping mall, and some of the best restaurants in the south. For those traveling with little ones, there’s also the option of enjoying excursions out to Palm Beach Zoo, Playmobil FunPark, Mounts Botanical Gardens, and Rapids Water Park, which are all in West Palm Beach.
