The iconic Flagler Beach Municipal Pier adds a lot to your photographs and is worth putting on your bucket list.
Things to do in Flagler Beach
Flagler Beach is a perfect place to go for a relaxing, peaceful vacation, because it boasts six miles of beautiful, uncrowded beaches with cinnamon-hue sand and views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Flagler Beach Municipal Pier is one of the main focal points of the city and is a great spot to take a walk and see Flagler Beach and look out to the ocean. The pier will often have people fishing and you can bring a pole yourself or just enjoy watching. One of Flagler Beach’s best attractions is the Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area. The park is made up of 144 acres, and offers visitors the opportunity to swim, fish or picnic next to the Atlantic Ocean. Wildlife is abundant, making studies of nature an easy and enjoyable exercise. Camping facilities are also provided. Another great park to check out is the Bulow Plantation Ruins State Historic Park where the 150 acres of Bulow Plantation Ruins stand as a monument to the rise and fall of sugar plantations in East Florida. In 1836, the Second Seminole War swept away the prosperous Bulow Plantation where the Bulow family grew sugar cane, cotton, rice and indigo. There’s not very much left of the plantation, but it’s an interesting historic site where you can learn a lot about the history and culture of the Florida frontier in the early 19th century. Some other places to check out during your trip include the Flagler Beachfront Winery, the beautiful Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, the unique Ocean Art Gallery and the Flagler Beach Historical Museum.
