The Telluride Ski Resort has slopes for snowboarders or skiers at any level. You can also explore the area on snowshoes or snowmobile. Telluride is very unique and there are many other towns in Colorado that are unlike anywhere else in the world. Ouray is a similar small town that’s surrounded by mountains and full of charm. Just a scenic hour’s drive away, you can explore even more hiking spots and the Ouray hot springs. Two hours south of Telluride and you’ll be in Durango, which is a larger city with the famous Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Durango is not far from Mesa Verde National Park, which have the largest cliff dwellings in North America. If you want to see another national park while in Colorado, check out Great Sand Dunes National Park which is five hours east of Telluride. Although it’s a little farther of a drive, it is worth the majestic photos you’ll get in some of the largest sand dunes of the world. Stay in nearby Alamosa and explore the many outdoor activities offered in the area.
