Frisco, Colorado is a city located in north-central Colorado, west of Denver in the mountains along I-70. Many outdoor enthusiasts choose to stay in Frisco due to its location between Breckenridge, Vail and Keystone. It is a beautiful destination at all times of year.

Things to do in Frisco

Frisco is a great place to stay in Colorado, and offers a lot to visitors whether you’re there to ski Breckenridge, Vail or Keystone in the winter months or to mountain bike and hike in the summer. Frisco Adventure Park is one of the most popular spots in the area during the winter. It is fairly new, opened in 2011, and it offers a tubing hill, a beginner ski and ride slope, and a small terrain park. In the summer, the adventure park offers a downhill mountain bike course, miles of walking and biking trails, athletic fields, a skateboard park, and a fun disc golfing course. Visit Rainbow Lake in Frisco, where you can take a scenic, short loop hike that is great for all age. Rainbow Lake is small and clear and a good place for swimming and relaxing. If you’re seeking a thrill, you can go white water rafting with KODI Rafting on the Ten Mile Creek River. The company offers different rafting trips depending on the degree of difficulty you are interested in. Another great experience is to go kayaking or canoeing on Lake Dillon with Kayak Lake Dillon. The guides will give you a kayak and take you on a guided tour on the lake, where you’ll also see stunning views of the surrounding Colorado mountains. Another interesting thing to do in Frisco is to visit the Frisco Historical Museum and Park. The museum depicts the history of the area and offers interesting exhibits and lectures. You can also take a guided hiking tour through the historic park in the mountains to learn even more and get great scenic views.

Day trips from Frisco

Frisco is ideally located with respect to Breckenridge, Vail and Keystone, which are some of the world’s best skiing and snowboarding destinations. Frisco is also close to big cities in Colorado like Boulder and Denver. Take a 1.5-hour drive and spend a day in Boulder, the home of the University of Colorado. In Boulder, you can enjoy some of the best restaurants in Colorado and indulge yourself with great shopping along the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. There are also great hiking opportunities where you can take off from Chautauqua Park and go up into Boulder’s beautiful Flat Irons Mountains and experience secluded hiking trails. You can even take hikes to peaks like Bear Peak or Green Mountain, or many others in the range. You can also experience Colorado’s capital city by taking a one-hour drive to Denver. Denver has a beautiful downtown area and features the 16th Street Mall, which has hundreds of great shops and restaurants to enjoy. There are many local breweries in downtown Denver like Great Divide Brewing Co., Denver Beer Co. and more where you can take tours and sample beer. Denver is also home to four major sports teams and Coors Field is located right downtown where the Colorado Rockies baseball team plays from April to September.

Transportation in Frisco

It’s a good idea to have your own vehicle in Frisco so you can get around the city and easily explore neighboring areas.
