Things to Do in Tiburon
Enjoy the great outdoors by either hiking or biking on some of Tiburon’s famous trails, which include Tiburon Ridge Trail and Old St. Hilary’s Open Space Preserve, which offers 360-degree views of the bay and is close to downtown Tiburon. Richardson Bay Audubon Center and Sanctuary is a great place to go if you’re looking to encounter some wildlife. Cyclists should check out Paradise Loop, while water loves are encouraged to stop by the Tiburon Yacht Club. If you’re looking to experience other outdoor activities, Ring Mountain accommodates everything from rock climbing to horseback riding. Get in touch with Tiburon’s historical side by stopping at local points of interest that include the Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum, the Art & Garden Center, and China Cabin – an old sailing vessel from the 1800s. Day Trips Near Tiburon
Due to its convenient central location, Tiburon is a short drive away from many other great towns, which make for ideal day trips. Spend a day in wine country at Sonoma and Napa Valley, which are just 50 minutes away; or visit nearby Muir Woods and Stinson Beach, both are only 30 minutes away. If you don’t want to spend a lot of time in the car but still want to venture out of Tiburon, Sausalito is only 15 away minutes by car, while Angel Island is 10 minutes away by ferry.
Tiburon Accommodation
There are many nice areas to stay in Tiburon, where you can rent a home or condo during your vacation. Homes on the western part of the Tiburon Peninsula offer beautiful views of the city and Golden Gate Bridge, and are conveniently located near the ferry station and Old Tow area. The eastern side of town tends to be less populated and quieter, while the Belvron area is mostly flatland. The Reed Lands area is close to the highway and the homes are located throughout on flatland and in some hilly areas. Bel Aire has lots of larger lots and is popular among families, but does not have ocean views.
Transportation in Tiburon
Tiburon is only a 20-minute ferry ride from downtown San Francisco, making it a scenic way to travel into town, although getting here by car is another option. A rental car is the recommended form of transportation to get around Tiburon, especially if you want to shuttle back and forth to San Francisco and other towns, but visitors can also take the local taxi service and the Tiburon Shuttle.
