Spend a day enjoying the lake for which this community is named. Bring your own watercraft, or rent one at the Shaver Lake Marina. The lake is also stocked with fish, making it a great spot to spend the afternoon. The summer months can get quite warm, so the cool water will certainly be a refreshing break from the heat. There are many opportunities to partake in an adventure here! Look for horseback riding, off-road vehicle tours, and mountain biking at China Peak Mountain Resort. If you’re a more experienced outdoorsman or outdoorswoman, bring your climbing gear and enjoy the vast array of granite formations to explore. Shaver Lake is equally alluring in the winter as in the summer. China Peak Mountain Resort, mentioned above for mountain biking, is an active ski resort with over 40 trails for all skill levels. There are also many snow play areas for families to enjoy sledding and snowball fights! This area is also known for its snow mobiles, and there are a number of companies that provide rentals.
