Hastings, the other half of the Napier-Hastings “Twin Cities” is just twenty minutes away in the car or on public transportation. Hastings is more rural than Napier, with the incredible Hawke’s Bay Farmers Market. Find a cornucopia of fruit, vegetables, meat and cheese. Be sure to get some kiwi fruit at the country’s oldest and largest market! There’s a long list of wineries for you to hit also, as the fresh fruit makes for incredible wine. Try Craggy Range Vineyard, Ngatarawa Wines, or Sileni Estates Winery. Hastings is also home to the country’s biggest waterpark — Splash Planet. Cool off from the New Zealand heat with your family at this waterpark, it’s sure to be worth it.
