Things to Do in Acapulco

Go on a cruise around Coyuca Lagoon, which is one of the most scenic areas of Acapulco and has been used as a setting in several movies. Some boat tours in the Coyuca Lagoon allow you to release baby turtles into the ocean. Take advantage of all the beautiful beaches you are in close proximity to while staying in Acapulco. One of the most popular beaches is Playa Condesa, which is a great beach for watersports, such as jet skiing, or to just spend the day relaxing and sunbathing. Another beach to check out is Playa Icacos. Another large beach, Playa Icacos is a great location for boating and parasailing. If you’ve worked up an appetite after spending all day at the beach, try going to Zibu or El Cabrito Restaurante for dinner. Zibu has unique dishes that combine Mexican food with Asian ingredients. El Cabrito Restaurante is known for its’ authentic Mexican food. Acapulco is also known for having extravagant nightlife, filled with dancing and panoramic views. Some of the most popular clubs are Palladium, El Alebrije, and Mandara.

Day Trips Near Acapulco

While staying in Acapulco, make sure to explore other parts of Mexico if you have the time to. Barra Vieja is about an hour drive from Acapulco and is a great beach for horseback riding. Many tour boats also launch from this beach. If you’re looking for a cultural adventure and a day away from the beach, try visiting Sitio Arquelogica Palma Sola, which is less than an hour drive from Acapulco. At Sitio Arquelogica Palma Sola, you can view ancient petroglyphs that are 2,000 years old. Another good day trip to make is to Chilpancingo, which is the capital of the state of Guerrero in Mexico. Chilpancingo is about an hour and a half drive from Acapulco. In Chilpancingo, you can explore the Cacahuamilpa Grotto and the Zoochilpan Zoo.

Acapulco Accommodation

If you are looking for a more historic and less commercial area, you may want to consider renting in Old Acapulco. Old Acapulco is known for its’ town square and 400 year old Spanish fort. Transportation in Acapulco
