Adelaide Information
About Adelaide
Expanding from the coastline to foothills, Adelaide is the state of South Australia’s capital city. Before being proclaimed as a British settlement in the early 1800s, Adelaide was home to the native Kaurna Aboriginal people. Moreover, the majority of the city consisted of sand hills, bushland, and swamps before being planned. As Adelaide started to become developed, the city was designed with five public squares in the city center and several parks encircling it. The weather in Adelaide is reminiscent of a Mediterranean climate with short, mild winters and very warm, dry summers.
