Transportation in Cairns
Cairns offers a variety of different methods of transportation. For public service, Sunbus operates throughout the entire Queensland area, running from the north to the south, and even to the suburbs. Queensland Rail also offers train transportation between Brisbane and Cairns. If you plan on traveling to one of the islands up north, or want to explore the Great Barrier Reef, Ports North offers both tourist boats as well as private boats to get you where you need to be. If you’d like to do your own traveling, you can rent a car at one of the car rentals in the area, including Budget Car and Avis. Planning a day trip?
