We were lucky to find this gem in East Berlin.
This spacious, newly renovated,1 bedroom apartment met our needs perfectly.
It is in a 19th century building on a quiet, historic street close to tram and subway.
Wifi is fast and reliable.
It was great to have coffee, tea, olive oil and spices supplied.
We highly recommend this apartment and wish something like this was available in NYC.
Our family of three stayed in the apartment for five nights. It was comfortable and we liked the neighborhood so much that we could have stayed longer. From the moment we booked the apartment until we left, the whole experience was very positive. Lenna was easy to work with and responsive. She provided detailed directions to get to the apartment, including the approximate cost for a taxi. In the apartment she had travel guides, maps, and recommendations for restaurants in the area. The apartment was nicely appointed and lived large for a one bedroom. Best of all was the lovely neighborhood with great cafes, restaurants, and shops. It was also nice to be near Mauer Park on Sunday for the flea market and karaoke. In addition, the apartment is in close proximity to the U2 line to get around Berlin.
Appartment is perfectly located for visiting all area's of Berlin. It is very modern, clean, well decorated and had everything we needed.
It is literally a 5 minute walk from the U-Bahn (underground, which also goes overground :)) The U2 line takes you pretty much everywhere you want to go from the Riechstag to Alexanderplatz. The U-Bahn costs around 7 Euro for a day pass or 2.60 for a sigle trip- very reasonable. Maps easy to read and follow. There were also maps and visitor books in appt. We flew into Schonenberg airport and took the Pakow underground nearly all the way, and then hopped on the U2 for 1 stop and we were there. Really was very easy.
Appartment has pretty much all you need, just take is your clothes, shampoo and showergel. There's even the plug adaptors there! Perfect if your only taking hand luggage.
There's a mini supermarket squeezed into the tinniest of gaps approx 2 mins walk away, very reasonable and had everything we needed - bread, eggs, wine, etc
There are lots of restaurants and coffee shops/bar's on the street. Don't bother with the Thai restaurant/cocktail bar opposite, whilst very friendly it took over half an hour to get a coffee and a glass of wine!
Loads of fab sights to see! Especially the Christmas Market's - Alexanderplatz was the best xmas market we found right by the underground, lots of different stalls and a fab cheese hut where they melted hot cheese, pineapple and black pepper into a baquette!! It was amazing! Also cute little balls of fried donut things with raisans (5 for 3 euros) are delicious! KaDeWe was a good trip, it's like a huge Harrod's in german and if it's your kind of thing the Sachanhausen concentration camp is also easy to get to. We got there easily by tube, and a 20min walk, but would have liked more time - allow a day to get there and be able to see and learn the history properly. (It's free to visit, only costs 3 euros each for an audio tour in any language)
Good, clear and fast communication from the owner of the property. Overall a fab appartment and a fab holiday! Just need a week for our feet to recover from all the sight seeing :)
P.s Try the curryworst stand at Hopbanhof train station! 3 euro's and is delicious. Also Gluwein in the xmas markets! Hot wine in a chunky glass! Perfect for a cold winter night! :)
I stayed here for nine days and it was perfect for me. If I had any question or when I needed to add some additional days, Lenna contacted me immediately, she also said if I had any questions at all to please contact her. To her I say Thank you for as great stay.
The flat was much larger than I expected and everything had recently been renovated. It was also very clean. A nice touch were the pictures of each room before the renovation. The living room had a nice balcony which I used every morning to enjoy my coffee. The kitchen had everything you needed, I used it every day.
The location was great (it was not in a tourist area), many restaurants and small shops all around. Several grocery stores one to three blocks away, drugstore about two blocks away, subway stop about one block. The area is nice, there were many times I returned early in the morning and felt perfectly safe.
Rodrigo was there to greet me and answer any questions, etc.
I had a great stay. Once again Thank You Lenna.
The Lux Berlin 1 is a perfect place to stay when visiting Berlin. Lena has set up a spacious and comfortable space that has every amenity that a traveler could ask for. It was presented well, was very clean, is quiet and just as it appears in the advertisements.
The area is very safe, has plenty of public transport near by, has shops to suit all needs, is surrounded by great bars and a great choice of places to eat. The beer garden around the corner is a real treat. Strangely found our selves there several times
All contact, communications, advice and arrangements were easy and mindful of us as visitors to the city.
I would strongly encourage anybody that has this apartment as part of their choices to snap it up you will not regret it.
Great apartment and location for visiting Berlin. Apartment has all you need for a comfortable stay.
One caveat though, for people with mobility issues the apartment is on the 4th Floor and there is no lift.
A beautiful, spacious apartment in a fantastic neighborhood! The owner, Lenna, was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!
We only had a short time to spend in Berlin but felt like we had a real Berlin experience. A personal welcome to the apartment made us feel right at home. The apartment was well appointed but I must say we spent most of our time out and about. The selection of restaurants and cafes on the street is outstanding.
We stayed at Lenna's apartment for a week and loved every minute of it. The apartment is on one of the coolest streets in Berlin, full of nice restaurants, bars and great shopping and also extremely convenient for public transportation. We were surprised at how quiet the street was, given its central location. Lenna is a great host -she welcomed us with a bottle of wine and a fully stocked kitchen, including fresh fruits, coffee and chocolates! She also supplied us with tons of information about going around etc. which made our stay even better. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, very elegant and very comfortable. It had a lot of character and we loved the feeling of staying at a real Berlin home and not some faceless hotel room. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience Berlin with a little touch of luxury!
Everything is exactly as advertised. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and clean. 4th floor walk up on a beautiful street cluttered with excellent restaurants and coffee houses. Very quiet though. It is a block from Mauer Park, a beer garden, and two blocks to the subway. Lena, our host, got us whatever we needed and coordinated with me prior to the trip. 15 minutes to Alexander Platz, 25 to Potsdamer plats, and 35 minutes to the Zoo. I can't imagine anything that would have made this place better than it was. Just Awesome!!!
Beautiful clean apartment located 5 mins walk from nearest underground and approx 20minute walk into Alexanderplatz. Also well serviced by trams. The area, Prenzlauer Berg, is certainly a trendy spot which has been gentrified over the past number of years. There are also so many restaurants of all types of cuisine to choose from in this area. The apartment itself is located on the forth floor so one doesn't hear too much noise from the street. It is equipped with hi speed internet, all the mod cons(including dishwasher) and has a lovely balcony overlooking the street. Lena, the owner, was so helpful in every way. Would be happy to recommend this place.
the house is very nice and also clean, there is terrace with beautyful view. Wide bathroom and organized kitchen .The street down is full of reaturants and bars Unfortunately there is no elevator!
Had a great time staying at this apartment! I have rented apartments in Berlin before but this one was by far the best! Super friendly and attentive owners,
very tasteful interiors, awesome view from the balcony down (in my opinion) Berlin's most beautiful street and a high level of comfort (huge bed, great mattress, I haven't slept so well in most hotels I've stayed). The kitchen was equipped with everything you need even for extensive cooking and the bathroom was fully stocked; all in all this felt more like a "home away from home” rather than a rental place. As for the location, this area is easily my favourite in Berlin - very central but not overly touristic, you can just walk everywhere and there are tons of shops, little cafes and restaurants with this unique Berlin atmosphere that you just don't find anywhere else. Perfect! I'll be back!
Enjoyed a fabulous week in this super stylish apartment. Interior was beautiful and furnished with so much style and taste. The balcony offered great views of the lively Oderburger Strasse...plenty of bars and restaurants, We were met by the charming Lena on arrival who welcomed us warmly and showed us around and gave us some info on the area.
The weather was hot and the Prater beer garden nearby provided a cool place to enjoy a chilled wheat beer or two...! Plenty of shops and bakeries close by and the u- bahn was 10 minutes walk which took us into the centre in no time.
The apartment is reached via four flights of stairs...so you get plenty of exercise during your stay !!
If your lookin for a cool apartment in the hippest part of the city then look no further.
We were not expecting as much as we got- that's for sure! A beautifully appointed apartment in a fantastic position (a very trendy, bohemian part of the city), close to public transport amenities.
The apartment came fully equipped with everything we could wish for, including a dishwasher and washing machine, and all accoutrements necessary for those appliances! There's even an espresso machine...
We loved our stay so much we have booked to spend our Christmas in this apartment's sister (Lux Berlin II). Stairs up to the 4th floor are a little bit of a challenge, but maybe just because my knees don't work too well! Still a 5* experience - All we can say is WOW!
We loved our month long stay in this apartment. It was bright clean and warm with plenty of space and storage. Lena was very helpful and informative, and made the arrival and booking process very easy.
The apartment is in a delightful part of Berlin with lots of great cafes, bars and restaurants but within easy access to all the main tourist sights.
Will definitely be back!
This apartment is ideally located, easy to get to with lots of shops, restaurants and bars in the locality. Very comfortable and all mod cons provided. Keeps you fit climbing the stairs!
Cosy, well kept, short distance from the center. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Variety of restaurants close by. Very thoughtful owner. Quick replies to email queries.
Travel by train from airport was a little issue. No signs in English. We couldn't find Airport Express. While returning had to change 3 time. Fortunately a fellow passenger helped us.
Perfect location with lovely restaurants close by
Beautiful apartment with great views
This was our first stay in Berlin so having good quality accommodation in an easily accessible location was important. The owner, Lena, supplied useful information about the apartment, its location and travel / access tips. On arrival we were greeted, shown around and told about the area, local shops and eateries. The apartment was clean and well equipped and highly suited for our group consisting of 3 adults. It's a top floor apartment, giving great views of the lively street below (fairly youthful and trendy vibe), however is accessed by stairs so may not be suited to elderly or people with restricted mobility. Oderberger Strasse is a great location, and the area is full of very reasonably priced restaurants, a couple of supermarkets, and Eberswalder Strasse U Bahn station (all within few min walk). Our recommendation for a evening meal is Vietnam Village just up the road, but it can get quite busy! If weather is good all the restaurants/bars have outside sitting areas. All in all, we'd recommend the accommodation for a short break and would be happy to return if we ever came back to Berlin.
alles is aanvaardbaar
My wife and I rent apartments whenever we go to Europe--we've learned that it's not only much cheaper but also allows you to experience the location in a much more realistic way than staying at a hotel. And this Lux Berlin 1 was one of our best: extremely affordable, beautifully updated, extremely quiet and comfortable. It also superbly located in Prenzlauer Berg, an area filled with great restaurants and bars as well as being close to a U-bahn station. The only downside is that this apartment is on the 4th floor (5th floor to Americans) and there's no elevator - so have to be in decent shape for that.
