When it’s time to plan a vacation with your family, consider spending an exciting week at the lake. Lake Havasu sits just off the Colorado River and maintains its water levels thanks to Parker Dam. 1. Boating

Boating is a large draw for people visiting Lake Havasu. With eight boat launches, the lake offers easy access if you have your own boat. If you don’t own your own boat, rent a watercraft from one of several local outfits. Don’t forget your life jackets.

2. Off Road Exploring

Gather the explorers in your group, and spend a day tackling steep hills and dusty trails in an off-road vehicle. Driving off-road in a jeep, truck, or ATV is a popular activity in this area. If you don’t have a suitable vehicle for navigating the more treacherous terrain, rent one from a local retailer.

3. Swimming

Gather up the sunscreen and floats, and take your family swimming for the day. Around the lake, you’ll find a variety of beaches of varying sizes, some of which are only accessible by boat. Rent a vacation home with a dock for easier access to the water.

4. An Evening of Gambling

5. Biking

Go biking with the whole family when you want to get out and enjoy the fresh air. The Island Trail provides an easy ride of a 3.6 mile loop for bikers to share. Many of the vacation homes have bikes available for renters to use. You can also rent bikes from one of the local outfits.

6. Hiking

Pack comfortable shoes or boots for everyone, and take the family out for a day of hiking. Follow the hiking trail around the lake, or head into the Red Rock Mountains surrounding the area. 8. Visit a Craft Brewery

On a rainy afternoon, head to a local craft brewery or distillery to learn how beer and spirits are made. Visit Barley Brothers Restaurant & Brewery, Desert Diamond Distillery, or any similar facility to explore, enjoy a meal, and sample some of the local favorites.

9. Visit a Vineyard

Spend a day sampling wine and touring a vineyard at Stetson Winery. It’s just a short drive from th lake vacation rentals at Lake Havasu. This winery offers a large tasting room where you can sample your favorites and learn more about pairing wines with food. Don’t forget to pick up a couple of bottles to take home with you.

10. Enjoy a Evening at the Movies

Load the family in the car, and head into town for a movie. Enjoy new releases at Movies Havasu or Star Cinemas when you need a break from the sun. Star Cinemas offers stadium seating and 3D movies, and this theater makes fresh kettle corn and cheese popcorn for your enjoyment.
