1. Chicago, Illinois
The Windy City is a great place to take mom for Mother’s Day. As one of the biggest cities in the country known as a tourist hot spot in the country for it’s great dining, shopping and sightseeing, Chicago is a great place to spend Mother’s Day. For sightseeing, check out Millennium Park which holds the “Cloud Gate” better known as “The Bean” one of the more typical spots for a photo-op in the city where tourists look around the fascinating mirrored object that keeps them interested for extremely long amounts of time as well as the Navy Pier, which has beautiful views of Lake Michigan, and you can usually get good weather in early may in Chicago. There are also beautiful museums offered like the Art Institute of Chicago or the Field Museum of Natural History among others. 2. Kansas City, MO
Kansas City, Missouri is a great place to take mom for Mother’s Day with great options for brunch, dining and shopping as well as a plethora of Mother’s Day events offered in the city. The Country Club Plaza is the best spot in KC for dining and outdoor shopping with dozens of well-known brands offered and top- notch restaurants. The Power and Light district also offers great dining and nightlife as well if you want to go out drinking with your mother on the weekend. The Bristol restaurant located in the Power and Light district offers a great Mother’s Day Brunch and is worth checking out. The Powell Gardens in the city also offers a beautiful Mother’s Day event year to year where you can explore the gardens and usually catch a symphony performance and the Kansas City Zoo is also a great place to take mom on Mother’s Day as well.

3. Madison, Wisconsin
If you live in the area or want a nice weekend getaway, Madison, Wisconsin is a great city to take mom. The Olbrich Botanical Gardens are a great place with beautiful flowers and gardens as well as great water displays. State Street in Madison is host to great shopping in the city and will be plenty of enjoyment for your mom. Also check out the Madison Farmer’s Market open on Saturdays, which is known as one of the best in the country for great food and flowers.
