World Wonders: the Unreal Landscape of the Yunnan Province Rice Fields
This image looks like a painting, right? It's actually a photograph! It was snapped by photographer George Doupas of the Laohuzui ("tiger's mouth") rice fields in Yuanyuang, in the Yunnan province of China. The blue stripes are greenhouses where the local people grow vegetables. And the black areas are trees. Covering 48.2 square miles (~125 km²), the rice terraces of Yuanyuang have been in existence for over 700 years.
