#TNI: The Morning After
"Pay It Forward" This is a guest post from our Travelers' Night In Recapper Lauren, AKA @WanderLoz. What's #TNI? Click here to find out! -Grahame Travelers' Night In is always a big, messy, free-ranging Twitter travel discussion, and yesterday's was no different. Like a big night out, it is always great to reminisce the next day about the epic, honest conversations we had the night before. Yesterday's #TNI, "Pay It Forward", made me reminisce as much as ever, this time about the good-will shown by all the #TNIers and their travels volunteering experiences. The Pre-Party: The More The Merrier Every week #TNI's attendance grows with new enthusiastic and engaging world travelers. Like the Tripping Community, #TNI is stronger in numbers. Below are some newbies who joined the party this week. Please welcome them warmly so they will return! Reply a hello, kindly retweet, follow and/or list them. You obviously have something in common: Crooked_Trails, Thehostelworker, justineabigail, metsbwd, lightstar1013, logandsmith, tbu11, davidsbeenthere, PreciseAgency. The Party: Discussion This week's discussion was all about paying it forward with an emphasis on volunteering abroad and simply doing good. Who can understand and relate more to this concept than Trippers? Psst - anyone at the party last night who doesn't have a Tripping profile?? Because I think the world and other Trippers would benefit from your giving nature. Just sayin... So we are all forward-paying kind of people and I think we already knew this. It was great getting to know how all of you give back to the world we love to explore. Grand Scale Volunteering LAKarenLoftus: Volunteered @hospital 4 disabled children in Jordan-We painted & played Incredible kids-so happy! It's the Little Things...
mobilelawyer: Have volunteered to pick up a tabs at happy hours while traveling. That count? Big or Small, Good Deeds = Good Karma

Couldn't find open internet, man let me use his home computer. santafetraveler: When an acquaintance rescued me in Ireland and took me on a magical trip and put me up for a night before my flight home. Tips and Tidbits
tranquilotravel: learn phrases in the local language, use them, and laugh along with everyone. Gadling: Do research first. It's important to know about the organization you're volunteering w/ - where $ goes, who benefits... athornleybrown: 1st time travel volunteer advice: if you can't view and & treat people of other races as 100% equal at home, stay home. BridalTravelGuy: Q7. How do you find travel volunteer opportunities? #TNI #TNI #TNI #TNI #TNI #TNI It's my new concierge. The After-Party: Celebrations, Connections, & Cheers Like all good parties, the doors of #TNI stay open long after the scheduled end time. This week's afterparty was littered with tweets of support, encouragement, and inspiration. Here's a little taste of what happened after Q10: earthxplorer: "Twitter is not about posting, it's about participating..." Travelers, join in the conversation #TNI. global_gourmet: Thank you again to everyone who participated in today's #TNI talk - Pay It Forward. Rolling into the afternoon feeling really inspired : ) authenticcoast: @global_gourmet Thanks for the #TNI shout out. You're our voluntourism inspiration and we're proud to be supporting the good work you do. valentinavitols: #TNI is my favorite Twitter time of the week. Love hearing opinions of people all over the world, especially if it is about travel :-D Here's To The Hosts! If anyone knows the invaluable importance of a good host, it's a Tripper. Like a successful trip, behind any successful event is a fabulous host, or in #TNI's case, fabulous hostesses! This party would not be possible without the ladies from ZipSetGo. Thank you ZipSetRachel, ZipSetAndrea, GoApril, and GoSaraBeth! And cheers to this week's co-hosts: traveldudes, Gadling, global_gourmet, and iwishgapyear. Next Week's #TNI: "Animal Encounters" Join us for #TNI on Twitter next weeks at 3:30 PM EST on Thursday, August 19th. Hope to see you there! -Lauren
