Perhaps you're a history/art/culture buff or maybe your ideal trip consists of simply enjoying the food, drinks, and scenery. No matter what kind of traveler you claim to be, I am confident in saying that you all travel to learn in some way or another. If you have traveled, you've appreciated, learned, and lived history. The Pre-Party: The More the Merrier Every week #TNI's attendance grows with new enthusiastic and engaging travelers. Like the Tripping Community, #TNI is stronger in numbers. Tours Nomad_Student: Oradour-sur-Glane (WWII-destroyed town) outside Limoges, France, is sobering & sad, but leaves an important lasting impression. TellurideBride: Underground Tour in Seattle, because I never knew it existed. It was totally unexpected and completely enjoyable! StayAdventurous: A recent tour in Coba, the Mayan ruins. very impressive. sometimes the guide makes the tour. 501Places: Port Arthur Prison Night Tour in Tasmania. One of the most haunted places on earth (if you believe in that stuff) Museums mobilelawyer: Hermitage in St. Pete was amazing. One of the few places you can take pics of the art.

travelmedia: Fascinating: Watching a demonstration of old printing press Gutenberg Museum in Mainz, Germany. KWanderlust3: The Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Tel Aviv is probably the most powerful and overwhelming one I've ever been to. FrancescaMaz: Most bizarre is Crypt of the Capuchin Monks in Rome. Cool but creepy. On Your Own OverYonderlust: Not really a tour person - walked all over Kyoto, Japan - I consider that quite historical. kellymdurk: I thought Ephesus was pretty darn cool. Janell_IT_Blog: Best historical tour: Wandering along the tunnels of western wall in jerusalem then popping out onto the via dolorosa - intense. allaboutmexico: Rome! Walking around is like walking in a history book. Tips and Tidbits AboutLondon: Callanish Stones on Lewis. Older than Stonehenge, no charge to visit & you can walk around & touch them. TravelDesigned: There is a FAB book by @ParisBuFF Paris Movie Walks I would recommend for anyone planning to visit BudgetTraveller: Edinburgh's New Town was the inspiration for modern town planning and great cities like Chicago. Like all good parties, the doors of #TNI stay open long after the scheduled end time. Some shindigs may leave you with a headache, but the best parties are always worth it. Some tweeps didn't make it until after Q10, but still joined in the fun! Many continued in the history chatter. Trips were planned and reminisced and some of the most unlikely friendships formed.
