With two locations in New York City and one in Dubai, Miss Lily’s is “an island vacation in the middle of a busy cosmopolitan city.” Don’t expect your traditional eggs benedict brunch at this quirky restaurant. Executive Chef Adam Schop and his team serve up Jamaican cuisine, with menu offerings including jerk chicken, oxtail and curried goat. The New York Botanical Garden is hosting a Mother’s Day Weekend Garden Party on May 13 and 14. For just $30, mothers and their families can enjoy all special weekend activities on the grounds, including live music, games and picnicking. 6. Mother’s Day Breakfast at Detroit Zoo, Detroit

On May 14, the Detroit Zoo will host a Mother’s Day Breakfast in celebration with moms and their families. The event will take place in the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery, and guests will have access to the Butterfly Garden. A breakfast buffet will be provided, as well as a chance for kids to make a special gift for their mom. Tickets are available starting March 21 online. The cost is $45 for adults and $40 for kids under the age of 14.
