Niagra Falls Illumination
Every evening at dusk, the Niagra Falls are illuminated in a bright array of color.
The Illumination of the Falls has been taking place since the late 1920s* and continues to wow spectators today.
The rainbow is created by 21 xenon lights, each with a diameter of 30 inches. Each spotlight "has a brilliance of 250 million candlepower," according to the Niagra Parks website.
The Falls are illuminated every night until 10 p.m. January through April, and until midnight the rest of the year.
