Must-See Monday: White Sands National Monument

Trippers Christy and Kali, are currently nomads traveling around the U.S. but are preparing to take their technomadic lifestyle abroad. Here they share with us some amazing photos from White Sands National Monument. Enjoy the magical scenery from the comfort of your own chair, without the hassle of getting sand in your - everywhere.

White Sands National Monument in southern New Mexico may be one of the lesser-known National Parks in the states, but it's definitely a gem. At first we were a bit hesitant (so... it's just a bunch of white sand, right?), but it turned out to be one of our favorite National Parks; it was fascinating to observe the changing scenery as we traveled deeper into the rolling dunes, and overall White Sands was a beautiful discovery.

Since the dunes are formed from gypsum, a rare form of white sand that's extremely soft and cool to the touch, they're perfect for frolicking on. The visitor center sells sleds for sliding down the dunes, but if you don't want to spend the money there are plenty of other fun alternatives!

Luckily we had timed our visit to coincide with sundown, and it ended up being one of the most gorgeous sunsets we've seen. The sky blossomed with almost every color imaginable, morphing from hues of blues, purples, and pinks to vibrant shades of red and orange.

Who knew sand could be so much fun?!
