Must-see: Ionian Islands, Greece
Greece represents, for many, the favorite summer destination in Europe. Every summer, travelers pour into the Cyclades Islands - mainly Santorini, Mykonos, and Paros. However, the Hellenic state has other jewels worth visiting. On the West Coast, facing Italy, are the Ionian Islands, small islands easily navigable with small ferries and tour boats. To get there, you can jump on a ferry in Venice that will take you to one of the three main ports on the Ionian coast of Greece [Igoumenitsa, Corfu, and Patras]. The journey is part of the holiday; whether you're staying in a cabin or camping on the deck, you'll have plenty of fun meeting other travelers, playing Greek games, and getting to taste a little of the deliciousness that is the Greek cuisine.
