The Chalkidiki in the north of Greece, with its Sithonia peninsula rising into the sea, has become a popular destination for sun-and beach-loving European vacationers. With its sloping mountain range to the sea, the Sithonia is a "green island" in the summer. Olive groves and pine forests alternate and the numerous, partly lonely, but also busy bays and beaches have crystal clear and turquoise blue water. In spring, from March to June, the Sithonia Peninsula shows all its splendor. Active vacationers will find in front of a natural paradise here, the ideal place for hiking and mountain tours promises up to 800 meters. Easy walks over flowering mountain meadows, interrupted by rocky massifs and pine groves promise pure hiking pleasure and offer fantastic views of the picturesque coastline with its beautiful sandy coves and the Gulf of Toroneos or Mount Athos on the third "finger" of Halkidiki. Take a "break" in the spring, with its warm days after a long winter. The long autumn, from October to December, is usually temperate with plenty of sunshine. It is the time of the magnificent Erika flowering and olive harvesting on Sithonia. Our holiday home is to book year-round - and heated on the still slightly cool spring and autumn evenings. The romantic stone house, can be found in the village of Nikiti, in the protected "old" part of the village, with its 100 year old traditional stone houses. Nikiti is located at the beginning of the middle finger, at the narrowest point of the Sithonia Peninsula, about 1 hour's drive from the airport in Thessaloniki. The stone house stands together with a second guesthouse, see object no. 2598108 - 4-5 persons 70 sqm, on a closed property with a beautiful, sunny garden and shady spots. From the large, furnished terrace you have a panoramic view over the old village Nikiti to the sea. The house is 35 square meters and fully furnished, has a sleeping area, sitting area, fireplace, kitchenette and shower room and is equipped with satellite TV, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. It is suitable for 2 people with small children (travel cot on request), fully equipped for self-catering The village: Nikiti is located directly on the sea and consists of two inter-connected parts of the village. New Nikiti has everything you need for a seaside resort on the seafront: in creating a beautiful, 7 km long sandy beach with natural quiet sections, a lively beach promenade and a small yacht marina and fishing boats. On the 1. 5 km long beach promenade with its nice restaurants and cafes - from the typical Greek Tavern to the stylish chill-out zone with the cocktail - you can find cheap beach chairs with umbrella (if you drink a drink are the beach chairs, right in front of the restaurants on the wide sandy beach, free). The beach is wonderful to spend the day with inspiring encounters, sunbathing and swimming and to indulge in Greek food and drinks. Dinner here meet locals and tourists to "Volta", a walk, or take a look at coffee, frappe or wine the sunset. The old village of Nikiti, the "Palió Chorió" can be reached by going up the beach for about 1 km on the shop and commercial street about 1 km. It lies in a scenic gorge interesting and has retained the charm and tranquility of the past. This place is a listed building. With its many old, beautifully restored houses, the beautiful cobbled paths, its pretty little inns and taverns, the old Nikiti is now a jewel of the whole region. It nestles with its old, traditional stone houses and the small cobbled streets to the mountain, up to the centuries-old basilica that towers above the village. Many of the old stone houses have been lovingly restored in recent times by their owners, especially some German owners appreciate the quiet, restful atmosphere of this place, where time seems to stand still. So a walk in the narrow streets and alleyways of Nikiti's "Old Village" is a journey into the past and an absolute "must" for every visitor. Water sports, diving schools and boat rental can be found in Nikiti and the nearest locations. Worthwhile excursions are: A boat trip around the peninsula of Athos, with views of the monasteries of the monastic republic Athos; a visit to the archaeological site of Olynthos; a visit to the stalactite cave Petralona; a visit to the city of Thessaloniki with its numerous museums and churches and its bazaar. The numerous tavernas and restaurants in Nikiti invite you to explore the culinary Greece. In the village is once a week (every Friday) a weekly market. Here you can buy typical local fresh vegetables, fish, herbs, cheese and the famous Nikiti honey, as well as everyday items and clothing. For self-catering in the village there are large Greek supermarkets, bakeries and butchers for the daily needs. Even otherwise, Nikiti offers all the shops that can meet the needs of a household
