Check out the Roman Bridge in the Old City, which crosses the Guadalquivir River and features a gorgeous arch, single column monument, and leads to an old fortified gate that is now the Museum of Al-Andalus Life. The museum contains various artifacts from the past, and if you climb to the balcony you will be treated to amazing views of the city and river.

Bujalance is a baroque town with Arabic influence that is 40 minutes by bus and is home to a cathedral and a leaning tower. There are other villages in the Cordoba Province, including Zuheros, an Andalucian village with a castle built on a rock, as well as Montilla, which is known for its wine.

The AVE is a high-speed rail service in Spain that connects Cordoba to other major cities, including Barcelona, Malaga and Madrid. The Andalucia Express offers a cheap sleeping train option from Barcelona as well. There are other types of trains available, such as the Alivia and Altaria trains that go to Madrid and Granada, as well as the Lanzaderas, which travels to Malaga and Seville. These options are all very convenient and affordable. Cordoba also has a bus station that offers regular bus service from just about every town in Andalucia, as well as walking and biking, which are great ways to get around the windy streets.
