A visit to Quintana Roo is not complete without visiting one of the many Mayan ruins. The Mayan ruins of Chacchoben are very close to the town of Limones, west of Mahahual. Some of the temple pyramids built by the Mayans after they settled in the area in 200 B.C. have been partially restored.
