Things to do in Port Douglas

If you’re visiting Port Douglas, you don’t want to miss your opportunity to see the Great Barrier Reef. The reef was named one of the seven natural wonders of the world and is the world’s biggest single structure made by living organisms. It can even be seen from outer space! Reserve a spot on a Quicksilver Cruises tour and get a chance to snorkel or scuba dive and explore the reef up close. The onboard marine biologists will give you all the information you desire about the reef, or you can sit back and enjoy the view of the open water.

The next stop on your vacation could be the Daintree National Park. Considering its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef, this is the only place in the world where two World Heritage Sites meet. Covering nearly 3,500 square miles, this park is one of the most unique rainforests in the world. The natural beauty consists of open eucalyptus forests, wetlands, and unparalleled biological diversity. The park also has a prolific birdlife, as there are more than 430 bird species within the forest. The Mossman River and Gorge are popular attractions for visitors to the park, and provide water to the lush tropical flora and fauna in the forest. Take some time and explore Daintree National Park and you’ll be wandering through the world’s oldest living rainforest.
