The Golden Guest House—main floor

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 1 bathroom

This home is a recent total remodel. I purchased this home from Frank and Verma Werber, the original owners, who built it themselves in 1952. They could have sold it to a developer since it sits on a commercial lot— but they sold it to me with the promise that I would restore it

The house still has a mid-century, informal look, but it’s now open throughout the kitchen and living areas, making it easy to gather in the center, with views of the mesas and surrounding mountains in every direction

The unit is well supplied with shampoo, conditioner, soap, sunscreen, bug spray, tissues, paper towels, towels and washcloths, hair dryer, and curling iron

You will find breakfast basics have been purchased for you, but you will also find the kitchen stocked with pastas, grains, canned items, and other contributions from previous guests

The full kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, sharp knives, hand blender, bottle opener, waffle iron, roasting pan, crockpot, lots of spices, baking trays, and a growler to carry to Golden City Brewery for a refill

This is the perfect home base for walking the brewery circuit. Clear Creek also hosts a kayak park and an endless parade of inner tubers throughout the summer. Tennis courts, city parks, and baseball fields are all a 2 minute walk. Hiking/biking trails that run in front of the house will take you for miles onto the mesas and surrounding mountains. You will find a binder in the kitchen with more info

This is the upper floor of a 4 bedroom house. It is divided from the downstairs. There may be guests downstairs or owner/daughter duo

There is only a shower in this bathroom--no tub

A portable evaporative cooler and portable fans will take the edge off on hot days--there is no A/C. The house can be cooled efficiently by keeping windows open overnight and shutting them by 10:00 am
