Santa Fe Tiny Home in a National Forest Mountain Orchard

  • 1 bedroom
  • 1 bathroom

This tiny home sits on a 150-year-old cherry, peach, and apple orchard in the foothills of the Santa Fe National Forest, a gorgeous twenty minute drive from the historic Santa Fe Plaza and ten minutes above the artistic, adobe village of Tesuque. The land lies at a thriving ecological hub in which desert, forest, wetland pond, riparian stream, and historic farmland and orchard meet, with an extensive trail network within 100 yards. The house provides an environmentally responsible experience--tiny living, partial solar energy, composing toilet, and recycled and reclaimed materials. The land provides five kinds of seasonal fruits for guests to enjoy. House has a loft with cozy full-sized bed for a couple, and enough space downstairs for a few kids to throw down sleeping bags (extra sleeping bags and pads provided). Downstairs converts easily from writer's retreat to living room to dining area to slumber party. Property managers live a short walk down a country driveway away, in a 100-year-old adobe and rock farmhouse. Many have brought economy cars on the dirt road with zero issues, but about one in ten have found the road too challenging. No pets allowed, but children are very welcome in this mountain paradise
