Lovely Waterfront House in Private Community

Description

This is truly your dream beach cottage. It's situated right on the Peconic Bay (salt water) with a beautiful view of the South Fork and a bay front state park across the way

The house is perfect indoors and out! It was newly renovated after damage from Hurricane Sandy so the bathroom and appliances are all new as of 2014. There is Central A/C but unless it is unusually hot, the A/C isn't necessary due to the pleasant breeze off the bay and the ceiling fans in every room. Thanks to the 3 sliding glass doors across the back of the house, you can see and feel the water from almost everywhere in the cottage. There are two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and one with two twins that can be converted into a king

On the bay side of the cottage, there is a large deck with a picnic table, umbrellas, chairs and chaises. And the deck steps right down to the water! It's a great place to sip coffee, sunbathe, and later grill your dinner with a cocktail in hand. In the front of the cottage you'll find a lovely yard full of flower gardens. On the side, there is a wonderful hot water outdoor shower with a view of the bay

***I do have a cat that visits once or twice a year. If you are allergic, please let me know. Obviously the house has been cleaned, but I will make sure extra care is taken before your arrival. ***

The cottage is on a quiet private road, where you'll rarely hear a car. The neighboring houses are relatively close, but everyone is friendly and respects privacy. This is a very safe private community and you can take lovely walks around on our little roads without ever having to brave the traffic on the main road

There are plenty of activities in the area from wine tasting at nearby vineyards to beer tasting at the local craft breweries, to the aquarium -- but honestly you will find it hard to pry yourself away from the luxury of your own private beach! If you happen to crave the ocean, it is only a 20-minute drive away to the beautiful Cupsogue State Park, or a 5 minute drive to the Riverhead Beach: Iron Pier on the Long Island Sound. We often go there for sunset picnics

For the gourmand, the fresh fish in the area cannot be beat, and there are a number of great restaurants within a 20-minute drive. Loads of farm stands provide a wealth of fresh vegetables, local cheeses, breads and goodies. And don't miss the famous pies at Briermere Farm Stand!

Aquebogue is a mere 90-minute drive from Manhattan, John F. Kennedy, and LaGuardia; Islip Airport is 50 minutes away. You can go see a show in New York, and be home for a midnight toast under the stars!
